VinFast VF MPV 7 Price Cut to Rs 20.39 Lakh (Nov 2026)
VinFast has cut the price of its VF MPV 7 electric seven-seater in India by Rs 4.1 lakh, from Rs 24.49 lakh to Rs 20.39 lakh ex-showroom, as reported on 4 November 2026.

In this article
VinFast has lowered the price of the VF MPV 7, its electric seven-seater in India, by Rs 4.1 lakh. The ex-showroom price moves from the launch price of Rs 24.49 lakh to Rs 20.39 lakh, according to reports dated 4 November 2026 from Autocar India and Rushlane. This article is accurate as of 4 November 2026.
What changed
- Old price: Rs 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the price at launch on 15 April 2026.
- New price: Rs 20.39 lakh (ex-showroom).
- Difference: Rs 4.1 lakh.
- Variants: both outlets describe one fully equipped version, so there is a single price to compare.
- Equipment and mechanicals: Autocar India says they are unchanged.
Rushlane reports that the new price is also shown on VinFast's website. Neither report gives an exact date from which the new price applies, and neither quotes a VinFast statement about the reason for the change. Buyers who want to know whether the new price applies to a booking already made would need to ask VinFast or a dealer.
What stays the same
The car itself is described the same way in both reports. These figures are the ones the outlets report, and ARAI range is a test-cycle figure rather than a promise for daily driving.
- Battery: 60.13 kWh.
- Claimed range: 517 km on a full charge (ARAI-rated, per Autocar India).
- Motor: one front-mounted motor, 204 PS (about 204 hp) and 280 Nm.
- Claimed 0 to 100 km/h: under 9 seconds.
- Charging: Autocar India lists 6.9 kW AC and 80 kW DC charging; Rushlane says VinFast claims 10% to 70% in about 30 minutes on a compatible DC charger.
- Size: 4,740 mm long with a 2,840 mm wheelbase, three rows, up to seven seats.
- Boot: 126 litres with all rows up, up to 1,240 litres with the rear rows folded (Rushlane).
How the price compares with other electric MPVs and SUVs
Both outlets place the VF MPV 7 against other electric family vehicles. Their price ranges are ex-showroom and are taken from the two reports; they are not identical, so treat them as indicative.
- Mahindra XEV 9S: from about Rs 20.65 lakh (both outlets).
- Kia Carens Clavis EV: Rs 18.04 lakh to Rs 25 lakh (Autocar India).
- MG Hector Tomahawk EV: Autocar India lists Rs 20.25 lakh to Rs 24.25 lakh, while Rushlane lists a starting price of Rs 19.49 lakh. The two figures differ.
- BYD eMax 7: from about Rs 27.9 lakh (both outlets).
At Rs 20.39 lakh, the VF MPV 7 is now priced a little below the Mahindra XEV 9S starting price quoted by both outlets, and above the starting prices quoted for the Carens Clavis EV and the Hector Tomahawk EV. Because the VinFast is sold in one configuration and the others in several, the starting price of a range and a single price are not like for like.
Sales context
Rushlane reports that the VF MPV 7 sold 520 units between April and September 2026, about 3.91% of VinFast's 13,307 total India sales in that period, and suggests the launch price may have held sales back. Autocar India also describes the model's sales as having had a slow start. Neither outlet quotes VinFast on why the price was changed, so the link between the two is the outlets' reading, not a company statement.
What is still unknown
- The date from which the new price applies.
- Whether bookings made at the old price are adjusted.
- Whether any ownership schemes or incentives mentioned by Autocar India change the effective cost.
This is general information for readers following the Indian electric vehicle market, not a recommendation to buy. Prices in India vary by city because of taxes and registration, and ex-showroom prices exclude those costs.
