How to use Image Compressor
Follow these steps:
- Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- Pick the output format. JPG and WebP make the smallest files.
- Move the quality slider. Lower quality means a smaller file.
- Check the preview and the size saved, then download the result.
Examples
Photo for a website
A 4 MB phone photo saved as WebP at 75% quality is often under 500 KB and looks the same on screen.
Email attachment
Choose JPG at 60% quality to bring a scanned page well under typical email size limits.
Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is processed in your browser on your own device and is never sent to a server.
Why is my PNG not getting smaller?
PNG is lossless, so the quality slider has no effect on it. Choose JPG or WebP as the output format for a much smaller file.
What is the largest image I can use?
Files up to 25 MB and about 50 megapixels. Very large photos can be slow on older phones.
