In this article
Aprilia has shown updated versions of its SR GT 125 and SR GT 200 "urban adventure" scooters at the EICMA show in Milan. The Piaggio Group announced them in a press release dated 3 November 2026. The changes are mostly equipment: a 5-inch colour TFT display, a USB-C port as standard, an under-seat space that now takes a full-face helmet, and new colours. As of 5 November 2026, neither source read for this article gives a price or an on-sale date.
What is new
Aprilia describes the SR GT as a family of scooters with long-travel suspension and more ground clearance than a typical city scooter, with enduro-inspired features meant for rougher roads and tracks. The release says the restyling improves practicality and gives the scooters a fuller equipment package.
- Display: a new 5-inch colour TFT with more readings and easier reading, according to Aprilia
- Connectivity: ready to connect to a smartphone for pictogram navigation through the Aprilia MIA module, which is an accessory
- Charging: a USB-C port as standard
- Storage: the under-seat compartment now fits a full-face helmet
- Controls: new handlebar switchgear, reported by the Italian outlet MotorBox
- Wheels: a new design inspired by the larger SR GT 400, reported by MotorBox
Engine figures
The press release gives these output figures for the two engines. MotorBox calls them i-get engines with a Start and Stop function.
- SR GT 125: 11 kW at 9,000 rpm and 12 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm
- SR GT 200: 13 kW at 8,650 rpm and 16.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm
Aprilia says the 125 version now reaches a higher top speed because of improved calibration of the final drive, the part that carries power to the rear wheel. The company does not give the new top speed in the release text read for this article. MotorBox converts the outputs to about 15 hp for the 125 and 17.6 hp for the 200.
Colours
MotorBox lists the standard colours as Opalescent Light, Aprilia Black and a new Boulder Grey. It also reports a more sporty SR GT Sport version in Red Raceway, Boulder Grey and Tornado Green, with a two-tone black and red seat and dark details. Colour names for the Indian market, if the scooters are sold there, have not been published.
What is not known
- Prices in any market
- On-sale dates
- Whether and when the updated scooters will be sold in India
- The 125's new top speed
Reading the power figures
The release quotes engine output in kilowatts (kW), the metric unit, and torque in newton metres (Nm). One kilowatt is about 1.34 horsepower, so 11 kW is roughly 14.8 hp and 13 kW roughly 17.4 hp. MotorBox rounds these to 15 hp and 17.6 hp. Small differences between outlets come from rounding and from which horsepower definition is used, so the kilowatt figures from the manufacturer are the ones to rely on.
Torque is the twisting force at the wheel and matters most in city riding. The 200 is quoted at 16.5 Nm against 12 Nm for the 125, and both peak at fairly low engine speeds, 7,000 rpm and 6,750 rpm respectively.
Where the release places it
The announcement came from the Piaggio Group, which said in the same release that its two-wheeler business sold 185,600 vehicles in the first half of 2026 for net revenue of 652.8 million euros, and that it held a 17.5 percent share of the European scooter market. These are company figures from the release and have not been checked against other sources.
The release groups the SR GT with other scooter updates shown at the same stand: the Beverly and Medley high-wheel scooters, the Typhoon 125, and the electric Vespa range. Each is a separate announcement and is not covered in this article.
This article is dated 5 November 2026 and is not updated afterwards. Check Aprilia's website or a dealer for current prices, availability and specifications.
